    Good post. This is one of the few articles that tries to bring together technical communication and user experience. Traditionally, content strategy has been considered as a discipline of UX and technical communicators are not too responsive (for their processes and workflow) to the content strategy way of doing things. Hence the great disconnect so far.

    I think that you could setup this connection because you have been in software engineering for few years. Many technical communicators who generally start from a 'writing' position are not really as close to the product teams for UX, Usability, or customer experience and hence the disconnect again.
